Each one of our Ammo-Head Custom knives are designed by Doyle Wheeler.
Our blades are made off site, in North Carolina, from 440 Stainless billets in a CNC machine, then hardened and polished. Each of our blade designs can be reproduced identically, but set apart by our unique handles and scales. We use a variety of antler, wood, and stone to create a custom knife, truly a fusion of art and utility, our founding principle!
Not all steels are the same! 440 stainless is a favorite of the U.S. military and is widely in use today. It's primary quality is hardness with flexibility. Also it takes extreme temperatures on both ends and maintains it's integrity and edge. If your skinning an animal or having a close encounter with BigFoot, Ammo-Head knives will do the job!
